Los Angeles native and music aficionado Joey Altruda hosts his new show, Vinyl Meltdown, on Reserve Radio. Joey has been a fixture on the L.A. Music scene since the early 80s with his previous bands Joey Altruda's Mambo Noir Orchestra and Jump With Joey along with compositional scores for motion pictures. He also owns the longest running recording studio here in L.A, formerly known as Electro Vox Studios and now is known as Joey's Place. Listen here.
Another Los Angeles native, Edward Colver is known for his photography of the late 70s/early 80s L.A. punk scene and beyond, including some of the most iconic images of this time period. But to us he's much more. A self taught artist, his life revolves around his photography, sculpture, collection of unique stuff, his garden, his birds, his wife, and playing pool (not necessarily in this order). He hasn't watched television for close to 20 years. Freshjive is hosting an exhibition of some of his rare photos, some never seen before, at the Reserve Store on August 29. A limited edition release of 4 t shirts will be available by end August.
